Mineralisation: Hydration & Movement for improved Wellbeing

Are we drinking more water but forgetting about the minerals?

I’ve just added a new blog exploring mineralisation, filtered water, our Australian soils, fascia, meridians, and even fourth-phase water.

I’ve also shared some of my favourite ways to bring minerals back in, plus what we’ve personally used in our family for nearly 10 years, from babies to now teenagers.

If hydration, energy and minerals have been on your radar lately, like they have been for me in the clinic, this one is worth a read.

MTHFR - Methylation, Food and Supplements

This is really part ONE... The start here...

MTHFR is not a life sentence. But it can often feel like you have been thrown in the deep end of managing your health.

Before you can create lasting health change, you need to understand how your body's methylation, detox pathways, nutrition, and nervous system support work together to reduce toxic load, support healing, and help the body function with more ease, energy, and balance. Here are the basic swaps you can do while you are finding your feet.

Part two will focus on supporting detox and rebuilding, & enhancing health after metabolic pathways are reestablished.

IONISATION

HOME SUPPORT PDF and Videos are below.

Ionisation is one of those invisible processes that quietly underpins everything in the body, yet it’s rarely spoken about in a way that truly connects the physical, biochemical, and energetic layers. It is one of the first fundamental balances that comes up in the clinic. Plus one of those balances that makes the biggest impact when understood and followed through with.

At its core, ionisation is the process by which atoms or molecules gain or lose electrons, becoming charged particles (ions). These charges enable communication, movement, and flow (specifically your meridians, fascia, and nervous impulses) not just within the body but within the field around it.

This post is for those who have had ionisation show up in clinic, where something deeper is being asked to restore signal, clarity, and flow.

In kinesiology, when we talk about “energy stagnation,” we are often, quite literally, talking about disrupted ion flow.

What Is Ionisation in the Body?

Every cell in your body relies on ion exchange.

This includes:

  • Sodium, potassium, calcium, magnesium

  • Electrical gradients across cell membranes

  • Nerve impulses firing

  • Muscles contracting and releasing

Without ionisation, there is no signal.

Physical Level — How It Shows Up

When ion flow is disrupted, the body compensates.

You might experience:

  • Fatigue or heaviness (low cellular charge)

  • Muscle tightness or cramping (mineral imbalance)

  • Nervous system dysregulation (over- or under-firing)

  • Poor circulation or lymphatic stagnation

  • Headaches or pressure (especially in stormy or stagnant air)

From a kinesiology lens, this often presents as:

  • Weak or inconsistent muscle responses for the balance itself. Can often be a major issue if you are seeing other practitioners who use muscle testing but are not fully qualified kinesiologists.

  • Difficulty “holding” a correction, that is, consistent treatments without resolution of dis-ease. Feeling good for a week, then everything returns.

  • Brain fog, fatigue, short attention span, Adhd like behaviour/self-diagnosis.

  • Anxiety, fear states, heightened threat response

  • Anger meltdowns, rage that, when resolved, feels pleasurable (dopamine)

  • Constant head colds, tonsillitis, and mouth breathing

  • Dyslexic like responses, confusion of letters, numbers, words or movements

The body is communicating — but the signal is not being carried clearly.

Biochemical Level

Ionisation directly influences:

  • pH balance (acid/alkaline environment)

  • Enzyme activity

  • Oxygen delivery to tissues

  • Cellular hydration

When the internal terrain becomes more acidic or stagnant, ion exchange slows.

This can show up as:

  • Brain fog

  • Sluggish detoxification

  • Hormonal disruption

  • Inflammation

At this level, it’s not always about what you’re taking in — It’s about whether your body can activate, transport, and utilise it.

Energetic Level

Ions don’t just operate inside the body — they influence the space around you.

Negative ions (abundant in nature - waterfalls, ocean waves, rainforests) support:

  • Nervous system regulation

  • Mental clarity and mood

  • Oxygen uptake

  • A felt sense of expansion and ease

Positive ion load (common in modern environments such as screens, artificial lighting, enclosed air spaces, and concrete) can contribute to:

  • Irritability

  • Mental fatigue

  • Emotional sensitivity

  • A sense of disconnection

Ionisation & the Nervous System

Your nervous system is an electrical network driven by ion movement.

When ion balance is optimal:

  • Signals are clear and efficient

  • Responses are appropriate

  • The body can shift between states with ease

When disrupted:

  • Stress responses can become prolonged

  • Freeze states can feel difficult to move through

  • The system holds onto patterns longer than needed

Kinesiology works here by restoring communication pathways rather than forcing outcomes.

Ionisation, Meridians, Fascia & Nerves

This is where the deeper integration becomes clear — meridians, fascia, and nerves are all part of the body’s communication network, and each relies on ionisation to function effectively. Meridians can be understood as conductive pathways that carry information and energy, requiring hydrated, mineral-rich tissues and active ion exchange to maintain flow; when ionisation is balanced, this flow is responsive, acupoints are receptive, and corrections integrate with ease, whereas disruption leads to sluggish, irregular flow and difficulty in stabilising. Fascia, as a fluid and interconnected matrix, depends on water, electrolytes, and organised collagen to transmit both mechanical and sensory information; when well-ionised, it glides and supports coordinated, effortless movement, but when ion flow is reduced, it becomes dense, tension patterns persist, and stored stress becomes more apparent — often what is felt gradually releasing in session. Nerves, the body’s electrical communication highways, rely entirely on ion exchange, with sodium, potassium, and calcium driving each impulse; when balanced, signalling is precise and adaptive, supporting stable mood, cognition, and recovery, but when disrupted, signals can misfire or lag, leading to sensitivity, fatigue, or fogginess. In this way, nervous system regulation is not just psychological — it is fundamentally electrochemical, dependent on the body’s ability to maintain and move charge.
